The Seekers

I slowly lowered my upper half of my body and curled my lips, barring my teeth at her with a vicious snarl.I snapped my jaws to show the raw power behind them and pinned my ears against my skull.

I gulpged fearfully, staring at him terror obvious as my gaze stayed locked onto his face. "O..kay." I whispered shakily. Closing my eyes wishing it was all a dream. I looked around, I wanted to punch this guys lights out, but with that dog I had no chance of any sort of survival. I swallowed again. "What....are you going to take me." I asked through my gritted teeth.

"ill take the stupid cat so she'll shut up to" I mumbled, not knowing if he could hear me or not.I growled a warning once last time to her before I walked towards the door that held the cat and opened it, quickly grabbing her behind her head so she coulden't turn or get me in her grasp.

Nick loosened his tight grip on her wrist. "Thank you." He said in a very low voice. "Let;s go, Demon!" He called and opened the front door. "Not a sound..."He warned The girl darkly. It wasn't too long a walk, how bad could it be?

I shivered and nodded. Glancing around my house. Would this be the last time I would see my home. I looked up at him. Gritting my teeth. I was going to snap pretty soon. I didn't mean anger wise. I ment scared, fearful, sad wise. I was going to spill over. I was going to freak out. I didn't know what was happening. I know, I'm the stupidist girl alive, telling a complete stranger whether my parents were home or not. Getting trapped in a head lock and I was going to be taken somewhere, and I didn't know what was going to happen to me.

I quickly followed after nick, my jaws tightly around the cat so she wouldn't move but also so I wouldent hurt her.I jumpped off the portch and walked closely to the girl, with a few low warning growls here and there.

Nick glanced down and to the left, avoiding any kind of visual contact with the girl. He felt sick in the stomach. He was tired of doing this... It was inhumane.
However, he was forced to. It was what he was born for, basically. He was no different than any other Tracker.
"Keep up," He growled and gave the girl's arm a tug, walking at a very quick speed across the street.

My paws toke long strides as I followed the two, keeping up very easily.My ears laid back and I wanted the hurl since this cat hair was just gross, Stupid cats.

"Azalea dear!" Came a musical voice over the sound of a lawn mower. The sound of the mower died away. I craned my neck to see my caring old neighbor calling towards me. "I have some cornbread for your mother." She called. I tried best I could to pull this pushy man to a hault so I could respond. Surely he would have to stop. Otherwise this old lady would get nosey, and call my parents. And surely if he was planning on eliminating me-i shudered at the thought- he wouldn't want people supicious.

Gosh dang stupid old lady! I growled lowly so she wouldent hear and slowly turned my head towards the lady, wagging my tail slowly to look friendly as I held the cat between my jaws.

Nick bit his bottom lip. You've got to be kidding me. He thought in a growl. He looked up to the old woman and smiled, for the first time since he'd seen this girl. But it was an old Woman... She'd become suspicious easily.

"Ooh. And who may this handsome young man be?" She asked looking at me and winking. I almost gagged. Ok he was good looking. BUT LOOK WHAT HE WAS DOING TO ME!! I plastered a fake smile on my face. "O this is my friend...um...." I had no idea what to say. I wnated to tell her to run to the phone and call the police. But that'd be like commiting suicide with this big dog only a few feet away.

I looekd up at the girl and moved slightly closer, so my fur was pressed against her leg to let her know not to try anything stupid.

"Nick." Nick finished the girl's sentence for her, the smile still smack on his face. "We, really have to.. Go.." he said, looking to the girl. It was risky enough just talking to this Lady, he couldn't risk any witnesses being present.

So this was the mystery mans name. Nick. Or maybe he had made up the name so no one could find him easily. I smiled at the old lady. "By the way. Leave the cornbread on the porch, my mom will get it when she gets home." I said and looked down at the ground, my eyes stung. Would I ever see me family again? The old lady smiled. "have fun dear!" She called to me.

I looekd up at the girl and lowered my ears slightly, I could see the sadness and to be honest, this time it kinda ffected me.I slowly nuged her open hand with my nose and whined queitly so nick wouldn't hear.

I shied away from the dogs touch, then just let my hand hand there, placed gently on his muzzle, at this point what was the use of fighting it. My eyes became glossy, tears about to spill over I turned my head away from the man -who seemed to be- heartless. I stared at teh dog absently memories flooding back. Why didn't he just get it over with once and for all! I gritted my teeth.

I slowly nuzzled her open hand, as a sign of comfert and lowered my ears.I placed the cat's head on her hand to which the cat WAS alive.I lifted my head and stared up at ehr with another soft whine.

Nick watched the girl and frowned internally. "Nice to meet you, ma'am." He said, then gave The girl's arm a gentle Tug. "C'mon." He said, the smile faded and his normal expression quickly snapped back, and began walking once again.

I tried to keep up as best as possible. My eyes remained glossy as I kept my head down, I stared at the ground as it passed below my feet. I'm not sure if I really wanted to know, but I parted my lips to ask the one question the out did all the other ones. "What are you going to do to me?" I asked, I had a pretty good idea.. He was probably some mass murdurer who killed for rhe thrill of it. Watching young girls cried out, then silenced forever. I shudered at that thought my teeth chattering as the cold breeze met my bare arms.

I sighed heavily and followed after them, taking long strides to keep at the girls side.

Nick hesitated his reply, "Let's just say you saw something you weren't supposed to see." He said quietly as they came to the front gate. He pulled the door opened for the girl, and glared at her. His eyes spoke for him... Go in, or else.

I jumpped up the steps and walked into the house, turning my head over my shoulder to look at the girl.

I shivered as I stared through thre doorway, into the unkown. I slowly stepped in feeling his glare ont he back of my head. I walk in and looked around biting my lip nervously. "And what would that be?" I asked softly, nervously. Then it clicked, the girl yesterday, the alley, she disappeared, hwo would they even know about that?!

I walked over to the girl and nuged her hand, wanting to drop the cat with her since it was hers and all.
